Started in the field, I took my easel and a blank canvas down to Devonian Park in Metchsosin , and chose only Payne’s Grey and Titanium white to capture the form and values of this lovely low growing yet easily-overlooked succulent. Then back in the studio I glazed it with many layers of transparent paint to build it up into full colour. This piece started the series a year ahead of its time; the idea incubated for a full year before I began the rest of this series. What started as a just-for-fun plein air session has become the start of this whole collection.
This original piece is framed and hand-signed, sealed with 2 isolation coats and a UV archival gloss varnish, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. I will personally and professionally frame your piece in a black float frame with all hanging hardware, ready for your wall. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for delivery!
