Through our hot summer, dreary fall, and bitter dark chilly winter, these paintings helped me keep alive the dream of spring’s cool freshness and renewal and colour. Further to that, I want to share a message highlighting the diversity and easily-overlooked beauty of Vancouver Island’s native wildflower species, and share how much joy they bring me when I spend quality time with them face-to-face. My wish is that the same hope and joy may accompany each painting as it finds its way into your home and heart!

I spent most early mornings of 2023 (more often than not) at my easel, painting for an hour or two at a time, chipping away at this series. It marked the beginning of a truly devoted, consistent creative practice, more than just occasional and sporadic. Many of these paintings I spent upwards of 30 hours on, even though they are sized at only 8x10”. I can’t yet justify charging a 30-hour price for a small painting at this early stage in my career, so what you are finding here is a bargain! As well, I am offering limited edition archival prints to help make up the difference, so I may still receive fair compensation for my work.
