I found these lovely checker lilies hiding in the grasses at one of my local parks. I sat myself right down then and there, cross-legged in the pathway, and sketched their gesture. Later, when I began this painting I wasn’t quite sure where it was going, but suddenly I felt the impulse to darken the scene with Prussian Blue and create a halo glow around these flowers as though they were lit from within. I do not regret this decision! What fun.

This original piece is framed and hand-signed, sealed with 2 isolation coats and a UV archival gloss varnish, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
